Betsy's Flower Truck

Vol. 1  |  August 2026

---

Birdie arrived in Boise on February 27, 2026.   Birdie is the VW; Betsy is the owner.

Birdie had her first event in the spring and people were delighted to see this vintage Volkswagen flower truck. Now in September she is recognized all over Ada County. She is licensed for Boise and Meridian; she is also able to become licensed in almost any city or town in Idaho. She always displays her licenses.

Her events (past and present) are on her website.

This newsletter will bring you information not already on the website. For example, do you know a good way to make your bouquet last longer? Make a new cut (diagonal) when you get home and then change the water EVERY day.

Do you know Birdie’s top speed? Email Birdie at betsy@betsyflowertruck.com. If you submit the right number, you will win …. nothing! But it would be fun to try!

Do you know The Roosevelt Market on North Elm in the East End? Of course, the neighborhood there knows it well but if you haven’t been there it's a delightful cafe and general store…and Birdie’s there every Saturday morning. (Unless it rains/snows; Birdie does not go out when these happen.)

Birdie is a 1965 VW Single Cab Transporter. The Single Cab Transporter came from the Volkswagen Transporter which was introduced the same year Betsy’s mom was born. They are both old!

Birdie needed to have her engine replaced and she has a 1971 Dual Port engine there in the back.

Now about flowers: Birdie brings all sorts of flowers to her events. Depending on the time of year, a variety of flowers and greens are available. One flower that has to be special-ordered is: the rose. Roses require special care so if you’d like them, contact Betsy.

Betsy makes all of her Sun Catchers. The idea came when she realized she could take individual petals, dry them, and put them in resin circle molds. There are big Sun Catchers and tiny Sun Catchers. Some have little bells on the bottom. They work indoors and outdoors.

And that’s it for the Autumn Newsletter. Hope to see you soon.
